Hey everyone! So I don't have too much to report since class on Tuesday... Dr. Akey read my proposal and gave me some feedback, so I feel good about that. I finished up my survey and questioners and I am just waiting on Michele, Janine and Courtney to complete them. I know I need to start zeroing in on some specific aspects of self esteem, so I chose to start with body image. Body image is one of the biggest issues among young girls, especially in middle school. Since most of the girls who participate in Empower Girls Buffalo are in middle school or going into middle school, I figured this was a good place to start. Since Dr. Akey has done so much work with body image, I know she will be a huge help in this part of my research.
