My final project, I'm hoping, will be a "mock up" magazine or a journalistic spread; therefore, it will consist of various articles written by me so the topics can be diverse with the similar concept of gender and local food and agriculture. I am currently playing with a few topics and I need to think about if I want to focus on one aspect of local food - that is, growing, processing, sharing, gardening, hunger/assistance, cooks, food deserts ... I have many options. I think the Farmers Market, or Rural Ministry would be good resources, though not the only ones (I am still looking). Also, the Edible Buffalo magazine did a feature on women in agriculture. The following link should take you to an article about Roo Haven Farm:

Margaret sells at the local farmers market, and I believe she is the current president of the market. She would be a possible resource. I also have an older article by anthropologist, Laura B. DeLind, called, "Is this a woman's movement?" that discusses the current food movement as led by women as well as a few books that I have ordered through inter library loan! I am super excited to further my research and finalize my topic ideas.
If anyone has any suggestions, they would be so very much appreciated!
I am still thinking about who I want as my faculty person to help me with. So, if anyone can think of someone who would be good for this, let me know.
